Quinn was meant to die in Season 5, a victim of sarin gas poisoning. But when he learned that his character would perish, Mr. Friend was asked to draft the not-quite-a-love-letter that Quinn leaves Carrie from his deathbed: “Just think of me as a light on the headlands, a beacon, steering you clear of the rocks.”
After the death of her father Frank , Carrie returned from Pakistan to take on her responsibilities as her mother. Several months following Elizabeth Keane's inauguration, Carrie was seen with Franny back in her custody as both were living with Carrie's sister Maggie and her family.
Abraham's CIA honcho Dar Adal is an evil whirling dervish in the episode written by Ron Nyswaner and directed by Tucker Gates.
But Carrie essentially becomes the turned agent she's been suspected of being all season and flees a traitor with Russian GRU officer Yevgeny (Costa Ronin). Carrie, branded a traitor in her homeland like Nicholas Brody (Damian Lewis) before her, is now America's only asset in the inner circle of Russian intelligence.

CIA operative Peter Quinn is a self-proclaimed "guy who kills bad guys" within the agency. But despite his job description, he has a conscience. He has been working both for and against Carrie at various times in his career, but neither position has dampened the feelings he has for her.
However, as it turned out Peter Quinn wasn't physically alive in season 8 of 'Homeland', but more as an effect. Gansa elaborated on how the two most important characters, Quinn and Brody, who have been killed in the series' course of action find a place to be spiritually present with Carrie in season 8.
John Jr. is the son of Peter Quinn and Julia Diaz. Following his father's death in the Season 6 finale, Carrie discovers his photos (including one of him with his mother) among his father's belongings and breaks down crying.
Saul's mole was introduced in the penultimate episode, “The English Teacher.” Anna Pomerantseva (Tatyana Mukha) was the lead interpreter for Russia's GRU intelligence agency and first met Saul in the mid-1980s when she was teaching English in East Berlin.
CIA bomb attackIn one of Homeland's most chilling scenarios of post-9/11 terrorism, a bomb inside Brody's car detonated outside the memorial service for Vice President Walden at the CIA Langley headquarters in the season two finale.

Carrie tells Brody that he will die on his own, but he insists that she find a way to get him back safely. After informing Carrie of his success, Brody goes with her to a safe house 100 miles out of Tehran. There, she tells him she is pregnant with his child.
Homeland's forthcoming final season will bring Carrie and Brody back together, cosmically at least. At the Television Critics Assoc. Beyond that, Gansa shared that Season 8 will give “real resolution to the primal story of Homeland, which is the relationship between a mentor [Saul] and his protege [Carrie].”

As the episode nears its end, Keane has ordered a mass arrest of officials from all branches of government, including Saul, on apparently trumped-up charges of complicity in her assassination attempt. So Dar didn't die, and he might be right.
After last season, we accepted that Carrie was in no shape or form (and probably will not be any time soon), a responsible, loving and present caregiver for Franny. Franny's now been adopted by her Aunt Molly, leaving Carrie to be a badass CIA mom.
Homeland Season 5 Adds Alexander Fehling as Carrie's New Boyfriend, Plus Three More New Regulars.
However, a CIA officer, Carrie Mathison, suspects that Brody was turned by al-Qaeda, and tries to stop him from potentially committing a terrorist act. In the third season, he is executed by Iranian authorities after completing a CIA plot against the Iranian Revolutionary Guard.

In that season 5 finale, Carrie(Clarie Danes) reads a moving letter than Quinn wrote to her before his tragedy. “Rupert wrote the letter,” Gansa reveals. Carrie seemed like she was going to smother Quinn to put him out of his misery. Gansa says he never meant for the scene to lead fans down the wrong path.
At the end of Season 3, Nick Brody—an American soldier turned spy played by Damian Lewis and the main antagonist of the early seasons—was hanged from a crane in front of a raucous crowd in an Iranian town square.
Quinn died in a hail of gunfire while driving lead character Carrie Mathison (Claire Danes) and President-elect Keane (Elizabeth Marvel) to safety from a group of mercenaries, and a group of viewers - named #NotOurHomeland - deemed this such an unworthy way for the character to go that they paid for a full-page
