From the EasyHome screen, tap the Apps screen icon > the Settings icon > Home screen > Select Home > Home.
Turn on your iPhone. You will see a Hello screen if your device is new or has been erased. Then, go through the onscreen setup steps until you get to the Apps and Data screen. There, tap Restore from iCloud Backup, and sign in to iCloud with your Apple ID.
Here, locate an app that isn't already on your home screen. Long-press on the app's icon until a menu pops up. Tap the “Add to Home Screen” button from the context menu. The application will be moved and placed on your home screen automatically.
Layouts are the way you arrange the apps and widgets on your home screen.
When you're ready to reset the arrangement of icons on the Home Screen of iOS, this is what you'll want to do:
- Open Settings app and tap “General”
- Choose the “Reset” option and look for “Reset Home Screen Layout”, tap that to start the icon reset.
Just copy the image you want to use to your iphone as normal. Now go to Settings, Wallpapers and Brightness. Tap one of the pictures at the bottom (underneath 'Choose Wallpaper). You should now see some wallpapers - plus all your Iphones photos ( listed by album/folder).
Reset all app preferences at once
- Go to Settings > Apps.
- Tap the More menu ( ) in the upper-right corner.
- Select Reset App Preferences.
- Read through the warning — it will tell you everything that will be reset. Then, tap Reset Apps to confirm your decision.
Customize your Search widget

- On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google app .
- At the bottom right, tap More. Customize widget.
- At the bottom, tap the icons to customize the color, shape, transparency and Google logo.
- When you're finished, tap Done.
To add widgets on an iPhone, tap and hold any part of the screen until everything starts to jiggle, then use the plus sign at the top left to add new widgets. Starting in iOS 14, you can add widgets to both the Today View and any Home screen page on your iPhone. You can edit, rearrange, and delete widgets as well.
You can always download the “photo widget” from the App Store. Open the app, then add all your favorite pictures you want displayed as the widgets wallpaper. You can also edit how long an image is displayed until it rotates to the next one. once you do that, long press for jiggle/edit Home Screen mode.
Add a widget
- On a Home screen, touch and hold an empty space.
- Tap Widgets .
- Touch and hold a widget. You'll get images of your Home screens.
- Slide the widget to where you want it. Lift your finger.
Add widgets to your Home Screen
- From the Home Screen, touch and hold a widget or an empty area until the apps jiggle.
- Tap the Add button. in the top left-hand corner.
- Select a widget, choose from the three different widget sizes, then tap Add Widget.
- Tap Done.
Once you've designed the iOS 14 home screen widget in the Widgetsmith app, you can head back to your home screen, long-press to entire jiggle mode, then tap the “+” icon in the upper-left corner. Look for Widgetsmith in the list of apps, then choose the size of the widget you created.
This functionality is helpful in adding widgets based on third-party app offerings.
- In edit mode on the widgets screen, scroll down to the bottom of the screen.
- Tap on 'Edit'
- Next, click on the '+' icon next to the widget from the list to add it to your Widgets screen.
On the lock screen of your iPhone or iPad, swipe left to right until you see a list of widgets. Scroll to the bottom and tap Edit. Tap Done. You should see upcoming events from your Calendar in the Today view.
Tap on Open App, then select the three-dot menu icon at the top right to show Details. Choose Add to Home Screen. Tap on the lower, smaller icon next to the name of your new shortcut (New Shortcut is the default name; tap the circled X to rename it).
- Open the Shortcuts app (it comes installed on your iPhone).
- Tap the + button in the upper right to make a new Shortcut.
- Tap Add Action.
- Tap Scripting.
- Tap Open App.
- Tap the Choose word and select the app you want this shortcut to open.
- Tap the three dots () in the upper right and select Add to Home Screen.
How to transfer apps to a new iPhone using iCloud
- Turn on your new iPhone and follow the setup instructions.
- On the Apps & Data screen, tap "Restore from iCloud Backup."
- When your iPhone asks you to sign into iCloud, use the same Apple ID that you used on your previous iPhone.
