At 1440 you should still be fine but you may have to turn down some settings on the more demanding games to keep your frame rates up around 60. The 570 would struggle at 1440. It wouldn't be unplayable but you'd be better off with a 580 as that would be a better match for 1440.
Yes they are future proof but those are budget graphic card and they are not powerful enough to utilise so much VRAM in most of games out there. Rx 580 4GB would go for more 3 years so Rx 580 8GB obviously would be more Future-Proof.
They haven't announced any particular GPU model though. But the RX 570 should also support this feature. It's only a matter of time and coding. BTW, AMD has already claimed that all of its current DX12 graphics cards support ray tracing via Microsoft's DXR fallback layer.
They're basically the same thing, only slightly more powerful. The RX 580 has had its clock speed upped to 1,257 MHz base and 1,340 MHz boosted over the 480's 1,120/1,266, while the RX 570 tops its predecessor at 1,168/1,244 Mhz to the older card's 926/1,206. Like I said, it's a small but significant improvement.
It's not worth it, unless you have a very specific use-case for those 8gb. Besides, at 260usd you should be able to get a 8gb 580 anyway. 220 should be a 4gb 580, not a 570, the 570 is a great budget card for the $160-$170 price bracket and 1080p. For current games 4GB is enough.
