Tanqueray, Boodles, and Hendrick's are all great choices and at $20 to $35 a bottle, they aren't going to set you back much more than the Costco stuff.

Costco can be a way to buy bottles that are very much near the same quality as top-shelf brands at a fraction of the price. According to Thrillist, however, it's quite possible that Tanqueray or Gordon's might be responsible for making the Kirkland Signature London Dry Gin.Though it wasn't a top performer, this Costco brand 2-ply bath tissue had plenty of average scores: it had OK performance in absorbency, softness, thickness, and dry strength tests. It had a higher than average score for strength when wet, but it didn't break down easily in dissolvability tests.

While the best and worst Kirkland liquors to buy appear pretty clear cut, there's one bottle you might want to think twice about. Kirkland Signature London Dry Gin is a bottle that has earned an 89 score from Tastings for its "crisp, dry light body" and "effortless" finish.
Tanqueray is a perfectly fine traditional London Dry gin with a significant juniper taste, which is the older style that most people think of when they think of gin. Hendrick's is much more contemporary, with a mix of botanicals and heavy on floral flavors.
You don't need to worry too much about your waistline. According to Livestrong, gin is one of the least calorific spirits with 97 calories per shot. The juniper berries come into action by increasing the number of enzymes that break down your food and helping your digestion. This also means less bloating.
Hendrick's Gin is a completely different gin experience than every other bottle you will find. It's bottled at 44 percent ABV (88 proof), so the flavor is rather pronounced. It's a little pricier than most, selling for around $38 a bottle, but it's worth it.
I had already noticed that the Hendrick's had a noticeably more citrus-y flavor, and was less floral than Bombay Sapphire. When paired with the vermouth, it made for an palatable martini. I could actually drink and enjoy this, even as it warmed up. For both martinis, I used Martini & Rossi Extra Dry Vermouth.
Hendrick's is $53-54 and Tanqueray is $38-39 at my local liquor store. Hendricks is great for a Martini. I can't think of a Gin that would throw of a G&T, as it's not exactly a delicate recipe, though Hendricks makes a great G&T as well.
