t3 is a rectangle flange. T4 is a square flange. T4 can be a large frame, and uses larger bearings. T3 is small frame and uses smaller bearings.
the t25 has a plain tubed inlet on the compressor and the t28 has a two bolt on elbow. The t28 is obviously bigger too.
Here's its story… Its evolution began back in the late 1970s when a member of VW's R&D department, Henning Duckstein, experimented by fitting a four-wheel drive system in his Type 2 Westfalia Camper.
Of course every T25 owner has their favourite engine, so expect to hear lots of different views on this matter. In our humble opinion though, the two best options are the 1.6 turbodiesel and the later 2.1-litre water-cooled unit.

Even though VW isn't selling camper vans in the U.S. at present, they're still being manufactured in Europe. Westfalia churns out several aftermarket camper conversions based on the Volkswagen Crafter commercial panel van.
"Doka" is short for DoppelKabine—double cab—and Syncro is VW-speak for vehicles equipped with an all-wheel-drive system, at least until they adopted the "4Motion" nomenclature. It's hard to imagine a vehicle that combines more practicality and charm in an usual and striking body style.
1980-1991 VW vans are called Vanagons.This interior scheme stayed in effect through 1986, and in 1987 the interior color changed to gray and remained a very high quality.
Production ceased in 2014. However, all is not lost! This counterculture symbol is about to make a comeback in 2022—as an electric vehicle.
The "T" in T5 indicates the bulb is tubular shaped, while the "5" denotes that it is five eighths of an inch in diameter. The other common lamps are the larger T8 (eight eighths inch = 1") and T12 (twelve eights inch = 1½" tubes).

T5 - T5, Fifth generation Transporter. hope you understand that! Basically, your vehicle is a: Type 2 (van), it is the fifth generation Transporter (T5)
The Transporter T5.1 is the newer, 'facelift' version of the well-known T5. It was introduced in 2010 and has a much sleeker and differently shaped front end. The main difference, and way to tell, are the front lights and bonnet shape.
Generally speaking, you should buy the newest van you can afford. If you want a Volkswagen Transporter, then the T6 would be the one to aim. However, if your budget doesn't stretch that far then a T5 would be a good choice, so long as you do your homework.
