The maximum auto renewal term is one year. The customer will be informed by email in sufficient time before the next automatic renewal takes place. The customer can deactivate the auto renewal mode according to paragraph 6.3.

With Remote Services and the free My BMW Remote App (available in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store), various vehicle-related functions, such as locking and unlocking the car, can be operated remotely.It's the same as connected drive and also lasts for 3 years then gets renewed within the connected drive renewal package.
The customer is obliged to ensure the validity of their selected payment method. The customer can deactivate the automatic renewal under the section 'My Account' on their BMW ConnectedDrive Portal at any time without notice.
In most BMWs you can also reboot it like a computer by holding the volume button in for 20-25 seconds continuously, which restarts the computer for the idrive system / navigation etc. Just pushing the volume button in temporarily just turns off the volume but does not restart the system.
Updating a retrofit iDrive or combox
You will only be able to download and install a software update file from BMW if your Combox or compatible iDrive is factory installed. Simply put the file on a thumb drive or other USB memory stick, plug it into the armrest USB port and go to the Settings menu in iDrive.Ideally, your vehicle will already have permanently integrated WiFi. The combox is the item circled on the left in the picture above (just forward of the battery). You'll know if you are looking in the right place as you will see a fuse box sat to the right (just forward of the battery). If the space is empty to the left of the fuse box, you have no combox.
