Bac+4 = Four years after your High School Leaving Exam OR Pre University exam. In France - most traditional Bachelor courses are Bac+3 = 3 years after Baccalauréat. Some courses are of Bac+4 = Four years after Baccalauréat, Even if you pursue one year Masters after your UG degree ( = licence ), you get a Bac+4 level.
An American high school diploma is not sufficient to apply to a French post-secondary institution. Because its scope and goals are different, the International Baccalaureate doesn't stand as an equivalent to the French baccalaureate. French institutions unevenly recognize it.
Master's degree, academic degree intermediate between the bachelor's degree and the doctor's degree. The term master was originally equivalent to doctor; in the faculty of arts the approved scholar was styled master, while in faculties of divinity, medicine, and law the scholar was termed doctor.
French schools win with their structure of MFL as in general the pupils learn a lot more & consistency is key. I observed that pupils in France, had a better grasp of English as a foreign language than most British pupils did of any MFL as they had more opportunities to progress in it.
Uniforms have not been enforced in French schools, a few exceptions (such as Maison d'éducation de la Légion d'honneur, les Écoles TUNON, and Vatel). Les lycées de la défense, formerly known as military schools, require their students to wear uniforms. At some universities, the academic dress is becoming popular.
The final year is the terminale. In French, the word étudiant(e) is usually reserved for university-level students, and collège and lycée students are referred to as élèves (pupils or students in English).
