The University of Maryland D2 Ice HockeyThe University of Maryland Men's D2 Club ice hockey team plays in Division 2 of the American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA). Within ACHA D2, we compete in the Mid-Atlantic Collegiate Hockey (MACH) Conference, one of the most competitive conferences in D2.
UMD Athletics continues to be one of the most respected and accomplished Division I / II Athletic Departments in the NCAA.
The Maryland Terrapins, commonly referred to as the Terps, consist of 19 men's and women's varsity intercollegiate athletic teams that represent the University of Maryland, College Park in National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I competition.
The men's sports include: baseball, football, and wrestling. The women's sports include: cross country, field hockey, gymnastics, softball, tennis, and volleyball. Both men and women sports: basketball, golf, track and field, soccer, and lacrosse.

University Of Minnesota Duluth is located in Duluth, MN and the Softball program competes in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) conference.

The line of Mark Pavelich, John Harrington, and Buzz Schneider was referred to as the “Conehead Line†because their style of play was “alienâ€. All three players were from Minnesota's Iron Range. Team U.S.A only had 16 shots on goal, compared to Russia's overwhelming 39 shots.

After the 1980 Winter OlympicsThe Soviet team did not lose a World Championship game until 1985 and did not lose to the United States again until 1991. Throughout the 1980s, NHL teams continued to draft Soviet players in hopes of enticing them to eventually play in North America.
The Paveliches have no children, although Mark has a daughter, Tarja, 25, of Duluth from a previous marriage. Mark Pavelich, 54, has been a land developer in the Lutsen area the past 20 years. He and Kara had artistically put together their home on Deer Yard Lake since 1995.

The 2021 Division I Men's Hockey Championship provides for a field of 16 teams to compete in a single elimination tournament. Of the 16 teams, 6 conference champions will receive automatic qualification with the remaining best 10 teams being selected on an at-large basis by the Division I Men's Ice Hockey Committee.
Blake Biondi's second game-winning goal of the season lifted the No. 5 Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs to a series sweep of the No. 4 Minnesota Golden Gophers on Saturday evening in Duluth. After taking game one 5-3 in Minneapolis on Friday night, UMD captured game two with a 2-1 victory on Saturday to take the series.
