MacBook Pro 13 2017 is much powerful device than MacBook Air and they are not even comparable because they are not in the same category. And don't worry about the 2017 model comparing with 2019 models, you will not feel that much of differences and 2017 models can do whatever their newer versions are doing.

With the new MacBook Air for 2020, there's not many reasons to spend extra on the Pro of the same size. The Air now has double the storage, a Magic Keyboard, faster memory and more. The 16in MacBook Pro, however, remains the best option for those needing extra real-estate and power.

The 13-inch MacBook Pro is a go-to option, but it lacks the power for tasks like video editing. The 16-inch MacBook Pro doesn't stop there. You can equip it with a 9th-gen eight-core Core i9 processor and an AMD Radeon Pro 5500M graphics card, which is really where should start to see impressive speeds.

Our advice is to wait for the impending refresh. According to DigiTimes (which has a spotty reputation for Apple rumors), the new 13-inch MacBook Pro will arrive “in the first half of 2020.” The rumor states that it will use the new scissor keyboard switch, and the same 13.3-inch display.
MacBook Pro 16-inch (2019)
It's a lot to pay if all you want are the comfortable keyboard and thinner bezels, so much so that we recommend most people actually shouldn't buy it. Having said that, if you're a power user then the MacBook Pro 16 is absolutely worth it.Apple isn't holding off on product releases, though, as it just dropped the 2020 iPad Pro and the 2020 MacBook Air (which has the right keyboard) in press releases on the morning of March 18. The last MacBook Pro releases came in October 2016, June 2017, July 2018, May 2019 and November 2019.

Offering powerful quad-core processors and all-day battery life in a reasonably portable 3-pound package, the entry-level 13-inch MacBook Pro will be the best of both worlds for many people. You get the Touch Bar and a faster chip than the Air, but avoid the extra weight and bulk of the 16-inch model.
A macbook is definitely worth the money you spend on it's purchase. Unless you are a hardcore game enthusiast, because there are not too may games available for Mac OS X.

The price of the Apple MacBook Pro directly correlates with its specs. Because the laptop has such high-powered specs, it comes at a high price.
The best Mac laptop for most people is the 2020 13-Inch MacBook Air. It's more than fast enough for browsing, working on documents, and editing photos and videos, and it has an excellent high-resolution screen, a great trackpad, and a reasonable price.

Select About This Mac from the Apple menu. If you have a Retina display, it will say that right next to the name of the Mac model that you have. If it does not say “Retina” you do not have a Retina display.
The Touch Bar is available on MacBook Pro models from 2016 or later, excluding the MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2016, Two Thunderbolt 3 ports) and MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2017, Two Thunderbolt 3 ports).
