Microsoft 365 plans for home and personal include the robust Office desktop apps that you're familiar with, like Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Office 2019 is sold as a one-time purchase, which means you pay a single, up-front cost to get Office apps for one computer.
Step 1: Expired
When your subscription first expires, it spends 30 days in the Expired status. Despite its name, this status won't influence your use of Office 365. Any installed applications can be launched, additional ones can be added, and Microsoft won't remove any of your data from their servers. If you're comfortable with cloud storage and need Office on more than your computer then Office 365 is worth the spend - it's more the getting used to paying a subscription for something that used to be a one off purchase that is the barrier rather than the value of the software itself.
Microsoft Office 365 is a subscription-based service that's accessed through the Internet on a web browser. It's not stored on your computer—You must launch it through a web browser each time you use it. SaaS applications can be run in the Cloud, but this doesn't make them a Cloud. It's the same with any SaaS solution.
